Yep, a sketchdump or something of the Greek beasties I found most interesting/ considered using as final. I think I’ll leave it at this until I’ve spoken to everyone else in the group about their opinions. 🙂

I finished the logo design. Well..not too sure how I feel about it yet, I liked the idea but the result isn’t what I was hoping for. However I will discuss with the rest of the group and hear what they have to say before writing it off. 🙂 It may be that all it needs is a tweak.
What is it? Some may wonder if you haven’t read my previous posts so to clarify in notes:
*The group name is “Metamorphosis” – we are meant to be a faux illustration company. The name implies change so I chose the Greek letter “delta” which also means “change” or “difference”, used in science and math. The shape of the letter was simple and could be easily drawn in a graphic -like logo.
*We needed something that would make it obvious or atleast somewhat explicit that we are an illustration company so I chose to incorporate the most conspicuous tool any artist would have: a pencil.
*Since one side of the symbol is thicker, I used that side as a pencil, and the latter two sides as pencil lines
* Regarding the colour scheme: The grey of the pencil lines is to emulate graphite from pencil lead, the red of the pencil isn’t just because it is popular; red pen is often used to correct/change things when going through work e.g. essay. The red ink colour is used on the body of the pencil to also imply changes. The green compliments the red.
I’ll see what everyone thinks of this idea and may edit it. For now, I’ll leave it as is and continue with my character designing of Medusa and Pegasus. 🙂
After meeting the group in class, we had discussed about what steps to take next. I mentioned my idea for using the delta letter as part of our logo and everyone seemed to approve of the idea. We agreed to come up with sketches and our designs, the best will be picked in the coming week. We also talked about character designing. According to the brief we need to design a character, explore a few ideas. Working as a group isn’t easy and we had to brainstorm a few ideas and agree on one to be on the same page. As I mentioned earlier it seems everyone was more interested in the Greek mythology idea as it was familiar and the most obvious. Having been against the majority I went with the flow and we are all to design characters based on 1) a greek god/goddess and 2) any other greek mythical creature. At this point I believe it necessary to make a note on the fact that although some people see these beings as mythical (i.e. not real, only in stories) others believe in them and are real to them. This means that it’s not actually seen as “mythical” to everyone. Even so I’ll go ahead and research and come up with some designs.
