I’ve more or less, with this image, finished all the practical elements of the project. The last practical assignment for this project was to design a billboard ad for Red Bull. Since the character I had designed was Medusa, I thought this was an amusing idea. The basic design and layout is based on the Heineken ad I had mentioned in an earlier post and I twisted Red Bull’s slogan “Red Bull gives you wings” to match the Heineken ad’s curtness. On to the group’s critique and submission! 😀

Billboard Ad Design!!
So guys, I finished the logo design, my research and character design and also my turnaround sheet. What next? Billboard poster design~ We talked as a group and using our research on Heineken and Red Bull, we decided to use this idea that Heineken had used previously. The before, during and after illustrations for our character should be interesting I should think! I’m looking forward to seeing they all turn out~
Logo Design – Final?
I finished the logo design. Well..not too sure how I feel about it yet, I liked the idea but the result isn’t what I was hoping for. However I will discuss with the rest of the group and hear what they have to say before writing it off. 🙂 It may be that all it needs is a tweak.
What is it? Some may wonder if you haven’t read my previous posts so to clarify in notes:
*The group name is “Metamorphosis” – we are meant to be a faux illustration company. The name implies change so I chose the Greek letter “delta” which also means “change” or “difference”, used in science and math. The shape of the letter was simple and could be easily drawn in a graphic -like logo.
*We needed something that would make it obvious or atleast somewhat explicit that we are an illustration company so I chose to incorporate the most conspicuous tool any artist would have: a pencil.
*Since one side of the symbol is thicker, I used that side as a pencil, and the latter two sides as pencil lines
* Regarding the colour scheme: The grey of the pencil lines is to emulate graphite from pencil lead, the red of the pencil isn’t just because it is popular; red pen is often used to correct/change things when going through work e.g. essay. The red ink colour is used on the body of the pencil to also imply changes. The green compliments the red.
I’ll see what everyone thinks of this idea and may edit it. For now, I’ll leave it as is and continue with my character designing of Medusa and Pegasus. 🙂
Delta Logo Design – sketchdump or something
Well it was meant to be a sketchdump but it appears to look more like a mind map and it also seemed that most of us had already had a somewhat clear idea of the final logo design. Even so I drew teeny doodles on what went through my mind and also a super brief sketch in the corner of my previous idea. I’ll be drawing the full one on a 200×200 canvas now! 🙂
